They also conduct workshops and seminars to educate people about the importance of trees and distribute saplings to individuals and families to encourage them to plant and take care of trees in their own spaces. To ensure the survival of planted trees, the Trust carries out regular maintenance activities like watering, mulching, and protecting saplings from pests and diseases.

These efforts have resulted in improved air quality, reduced soil erosion, and enhanced local climate conditions, as well as increased community participation in environmental activities. The community benefits from these activities as they foster a sense of ownership and responsibility towards nature, while participants, especially students, gain enhanced knowledge and awareness about environmental conservation and sustainability practices.

Looking ahead, Vainavin Janseva Trust plans to scale up plantation activities to cover more areas and involve a larger number of participants. They also aim to integrate these activities with other empowerment initiatives like women’s and farmers’ empowerment to create a holistic approach to community development. Additionally, the Trust is developing strategies for the long-term sustainability of planted trees, including creating green corridors and urban forests.
